"Alison 'Ali' Gerlach Field" Dedication

Saturday, July 3, 2004

The Amherst Girls Softball League dedicated a softball diamond to the memory of a fallen teammate.  Amherst Girls Softball board, players, coaches and members of the Amherst Recreation Board were in attendance at the ceremony.  Members of Ali's team took the field and left her left field position open in her honor.  Amherst Town Supervisor Susan Grelick spoke at the ceremony.

Alison was a member of the Amherst Girls Softball Broncos, Marlins and Reds and for the Amherst Lightning Travel Softball since 1999 in the 14 and under, 16 and under and 18 and under levels.  She was a participant in the NSA World Series Nationals in 2000 in Columbus, Ohio, and played in the FAST Nationals in 2002 in Orlando, Florida.
